The Carl Sandburg Home and National Historic Site is located on 264 beautiful acres in Flat Rock, NC, just a short drive away from our campground.

The North Carolina Arboretum

Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore Estate is probably the most significant Asheville attraction. Built during the Gilded Age historical period, it is an exquisite example of architecture and opulence representative of the time.
Visit during mid-spring and summer to enjoy the spectacular gardens in full bloom, or explore the Biltmore Estate NC at Christmas to see the home dressed in historical holiday decor where tours are given by candlelight.
Chimney Rock State Park
Chimney Rock State Park offers 5,942 acres of wilderness with various hiking trails, spectacular views and natural features like the Devil’s Head balancing rock, a 404-foot waterfall, and a granite monolith for which the park is named Chimney Rock.
Areas within the park were featured prominently in the 1984 film A Breed Apart, and most of the final scenes of the 1992 film adaptation of The Last of the Mohicans, including the Huron negotiation, the chase along the cliff, the fight between Uncas and Magua, Alice’s decision, and the climactic fight between Magua and Chingachgook.
